We are less than one month away until L.A. Beer Week returns to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. Where has all the time gone? In 10 years, craft beer has grown from just a few beer-loving establishments in L.A. to now hundreds of craft-friendly bars and restaurants and over 75 small and independently-owned craft breweries. We here at the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild still can’t believe it. The growth of our industry and our community has been such a joy to watch develop. Our local breweries and craft beer establishments are bringing you quality beer, safe spaces, and hubs for families, friends, and everyone in between to congregate.
L.A. Beer Week was founded a decade ago by a group of passionate beer enthusiasts; namely Dennis Hartman, Jay Baum, Ryan Sweeney, and Brandon Bradford. Without their efforts to educate the community about quality beers from around the world, L.A. Beer Week would not have grown to what it is today. We would like to publicly thank them again for investing into our community, allowing the L.A. County Brewers Guild to inherit L.A. Beer Week in 2014, and for continuing to push for the betterment of the beer scene.
As we jump into high gear in the coming weeks, we hope that you will plan to join us for the many festivities across L.A. County taking place June 16-24th. Our flagship event, the L.A. Beer Week Kickoff Festival will be the start things off right with 80 independent breweries showcasing over 150 unique brews. The fun takes place on Saturday, June 16th at the Los Angeles Center Studios — VIP and General Admission tickets are available now.
During the week, make sure to keep an eye out for all the events on our official calendar hosted by our Event Calendar Partners at DoLA. There are so many events to look forward to, from tap takeovers, beer dinners, to Eagle Rock Brewery’s famed Battle of the Brewery Bands! Be sure to also Save The Date for 3 additional L.A. Brewers Guild official events to wrap up the week’s excitement. Thursday, June 21st will be the L.A. Edition of Battle of the Guilds at Naja’s Place in Redondo Beach, Friday the 22nd will see the return of Wolf Creek’s BFE Fest in Santa Clarita, and Saturday the 23rd we throw down in Inglewood for the first-ever Brewmo Pseudo-Sumo Showdown at Three Weavers Brewing!
Stay tuned here and on social media for more updates on L.A. Beer Week and cheers to 10 years!
