SAVE THE DATE: LA Beer Week 2015 Returns June 20-28

labw7

After their great success as the new organizers of LA  Beer Week last fall, the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild has decided to move the dates of  the 7th annual LA Beer Week to June 20-28. Festivities  begin on Saturday, June 20th with the LA Brewers Beer Week Kickoff festival at its new location at Exposition Park’s south lawn.

Entering its 7th year, LA Beer Week is comprised of  over 200 events spread about the county at various bars,  restaurants, retailers, and breweries. This year’s kickoff  event will feature over 70 breweries 30 of which are  members of the LA Brewers Guild. The LA Beer Week  Events Committee, led by committee chairman Thomas  Kelley (El Segundo Brewing Co.), are working to bring beer  fans an even bigger and better experience with an  expansive space adjacent to the iconic Los Angeles Coliseum. This new locale more than  doubles the capacity of last year’s kickoff event which saw approximately 1,250 people in Old  Chinatown Plaza.

The date change was born out of the guild’s interest to focus on a time of the year that  would fall within various summer activities and benefit craft breweries who are beyond  time-constrained during the fall season’s major beer events.

“It was always so hot in Los Angeles in September,” said LABG Vice President Laurie  Porter (Smog City Brewing). “We’re looking forward to a little June gloom.”

In addition to more space, guests can look forward to two stages featuring local music  and educational panels, a special VIP tent which will house specialty beers, and more space  for food trucks and vendors. A limited number of pre-sale tickets for the June 20th LA Brewers  Beer Week Kickoff go on sale at noon on Friday, April 3rd. General tickets go on sale at  noon on Friday, May 1st.

Stay tuned on www.labeerweek.com for more details regarding this year’s #LABW7 events!
